After high school I stopped playing sports and gained a significant amount weight from being less active. I tried to stay in shape by doing the whole globo gym routine with my friends and found it to be very boring and time consuming. My junior year of college I was doing a group project on Functional Fitness and found it very fascinating. I felt Functional Fitness gave me that constantly varied aspect that I needed to keep me interested while getting an intense work out in an hour or less. Now I weigh the same as I did at my heaviest but significantly stronger and more athletic. I always think how much of a better athlete I would be if I discovered Functional Fitness earlier in my life. I’m lucky to have found a home at Iron Mile, my first and only Functional Fitness box. I am very passionate about this sport and love coaching and helping others. The community aspect of Functional Fitness reminds me of what it was like to be on a team, except now it’s more like family.
